You have our undivided attention

Established in 1990 by Diane Kane-Fournier, Kelsar Physical Therapy is Southeastern Connecticut’s ONLY one-on-one, fully-licensed practice specializing in manual physical therapy. Manual therapy is a form of treatment in which the therapist primarily uses their hands to manipulate muscles and joints. It focuses on restoring a three-dimensional balance to the body’s skeletal, muscular and soft tissue structures such as ligaments, tendons and connective tissue or fascia. Your sessions are private; your care customized for you; your treatment and recovery our primary concern.

Kelsar Physical Therapy is a professional medical facility stacked with a highly-qualified staff, but the patient experience is not what you’d expect from your typical medical model. With passion and positive energy, clients are valued, heard and cared for as though they are family. We practice the “organics” of physical therapy in which the mind-body connection is a powerful path to healing. Unlike other physical therapy practices, Kelsar offers traditional outpatient ambulatory care as well as emotional and functional techniques such as Pilates to lead you to a complete physical and emotional recovery.

Our therapists have unique specialties and work as a team to find the best therapeutic practices for you. They continually study and train with experts in North America and Europe to provide you with the most complete and current concepts in healthcare.

With an office in downtown Norwich and on beautiful Quiambaug Cove in Stonington, Kelsar Physical Therapy has two convenient locations to serve their patients. Call (860) 886-2042 to make an appointment today.

Are you ready for a personalized approach to YOUR optimal health?

“Would just like to thank you for the expert care and kindness you are showing Michael. He has been putting off treatment for too long and I worry about his pain and discomfort. You have always taken such good care of us. We are blessed to have you in our lives.”

DIANE KANE - FOURNIER, RPT, CWT, OWNER

Diane took her first CranioSacral therapy class in 1988 after her second daughter was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Nurturing her interest in theory and techniques, she was fortunate enough to study with Dr. Upledger and Dr. Barral of the Upledger Institute, a healthcare resource center recognized worldwide for its comprehensive education programs, advanced treatment options, and unique outreach initiatives.

Once Diane completed her three-dimensional study of the body, she founded Kelsar Physical Therapy in 1990 to offer a place for patients as well as therapists to experience gentler, softer, and more complete physical therapy services. Diane works with traditional, allopathic physicians as well as naturopaths, acupuncturists, massage therapists, chiropractors, and other health care professionals to serve her patients.

A love of movement led Diane to the study of pilates, yoga, somatics, and therapeutic exercise. She incorporates these teachings as well as meditation and self-help into her manual work for a fully-integrative approach to heal the mind, body, and spirit.

She has traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and France on a continued path of learning. In France, she was initiated into the aromatherapy essential oil practice by Lorrie Hargis, a registered aromatherapist and certified flower essence practitioner.

Diane has a particular interest in working with women during pregnancy.
